Every year cancer affects the lives of so many people that we know and love. Last year the ownership, management and employees of Morella’s Route 30 Shop ‘n Save bonded together and formed a Relay for Life team. Our team walked 24 hours straight, many of them in the pouring rain, and raised over $2,000 towards the cause of someday beating this horrible disease. This year we have decided to take this event to a whole new level by setting a goal of $10,000 for our team.
In order for us to achieve this lofty goal, we need your help! On Monday, June 7, 2010 we will be holding our first annual “Strokes Fore Hope Golf Outing” at the Greensburg Country Club. All proceeds of this event go to benefit the American Cancer Society via the Morella’s Route 30 Shop ‘n Save and the Hometown Fan Club Relay for Life team.

LATROBE, Pa. --June 8, 2010-- The Route 30 SHOP ‘N SAVE, independently owned and operated by Craig and Lisa Morella, hosted the 1st Annual Strokes Fore Hope Golf Outing on June 7, 2010 at the Greensburg Country Club in Greensburg, Pa. and raised more than 12,000 for the American Cancer Society. The proceeds from the tournament will benefit the American Cancer Society and will be donated through Morella’s Route 30 SHOP ‘N SAVE and the Hometown Fan Club Relay for Life team.“Last year, ownership, management and employees from the store gathered together to form a Relay for Life Team and walked 24 hours straight, raising more than $2,000 for the American Cancer Society,” said Craig Morella. “This year, we decided to take the event to a new level by setting a goal of $10,000. We achieved this goal by getting more people involved through the 1st Annual Strokes Fore Hopes Golf Outing.”More than 70 golfers and 23 venders and businesses participated in the event. Sponsors for the event include Pepsi, Diemert Insurance, SUPERVALU and Scalise Real Estate. Located at 1020 Latrobe 30 Plaza, Latrobe, Pa. 15650, the Route 30 SHOP ‘N SAVE is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
